Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners deferred a resolution to authorize the acceptance of a 1.07-acre parcel for conservation purposes. The parcel, located along Harriet Tubman Highway and SW 278 Street, is being conveyed by VC Station, LLC. The land is identified by Folio Nos. 30-6933-000-0680 and 30-6933-000-0700. The deferral was requested by Vice-Chairman Kionne L. McGhee. Previously, the Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded the resolution with a favorable recommendation. The property is part of a mixed-use affordable housing development approved under Administrative Site Plan Review A202300078, and the developer agreed to donate this portion for conservation. Minor soil and groundwater impacts were identified and are being addressed by the owner. The County anticipates annual maintenance costs between $5,000 to $10,000, to be funded by Tree Trust Funds.
