Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners deferred a resolution to authorize the acceptance of a Special Warranty Deed from VC Station, LLC. The deed conveys a 1.07-acre parcel, identified by Folio Nos. 30-6933-000-0680 and 30-6933-000-0700, located along Harriet Tubman Highway and SW 278 Street in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, for conservation purposes as a pine rockland preservation area. The property is being donated for conservation and will be managed by the Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) with an estimated annual fiscal impact of $5,000 to $10,000, funded by Tree Trust Funds. The conveyance is related to an approved mixed-use affordable housing development (Administrative Site Plan Review A202300078) by VC Station, LLC. Minor soil and groundwater impacts near the northeastern boundary are being addressed by the owner. The deferral was requested by Vice-Chairman Kionne L. McGhee to no date certain. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee had previously forwarded the resolution with a favorable recommendation.
