Miami-Dade County approved a modification to Contract No. EVN0004711 for Tire Purchases and Related Services. This modification, authorized via Resolution R-543-26, allows for a non-competitive designated purchase to implement price adjustments due to tariffs affecting rubber used in tire recapping/retreading. The additional expenditure authority granted is $870,000.00, bringing the total modified contract amount to $35,932,395.00. The contract, originally awarded on February 4, 2025, for a five-year term, supports the People and Internal Operations Department's fleet and emergency vehicles. Fedan Corp. dba Fedan Tire Co. is requesting a price adjustment for 12 tire products, which will increase by thirteen percent, to offset increased costs. Even with the adjustment, Fedan's pricing remains the lowest among awarded vendors for their items. Competition was deemed not practicable due to international supply chain disruptions caused by tariffs. The contract expires on February 28, 2030.
