Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted the 2026 Transit Development Plan (TDP) Major Update, covering the 10-year period from FY 2026 through FY 2035. This plan, branded as MDT10Ahead, is a requirement for transit agencies receiving state funds and serves as a strategic guide for transit needs, infrastructure, financial framework, land use integration, and future demand. The update includes eight chapters covering various aspects of transit planning, operations, and capital programs. Public outreach included surveys, pop-up events, and an Advisory Review Committee. The plan forecasts ridership growth outpacing population growth, particularly among choice riders, with the development of premium transit corridors. The adoption is a prerequisite for State Public Transit Block Grant funds. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to submit the TDP Major Update to the Florida Department of Transportation.
