Miami-Dade County is holding a countywide special election on November 3, 2026, to allow voters to decide on technical amendments to the Home Rule Charter. These changes include updating county location names, allowing additional methods for public notice and virtual commissioner participation, and standardizing stylistic conventions. The resolution was sponsored by Danielle Cohen Higgins and was forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation after a scrivener's error correction. The Charter Review Task Force unanimously recommended placing these changes before the electorate. The election will be held in conjunction with the general election.
