AMENDING DEED RE BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize amended and restated county deeds for three properties (Folio Nos. 10-7813-050-0380, 30-5032-000-0370, and 30-5032-000-0380) to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. The resolution would allow Building Better Communities to convey these properties to its affiliate, Javon Gardens LLC (a joint venture with Pyramid Construction). Additionally, it grants a two-year extension, until July 29, 2028, for obtaining final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units intended for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. This follows previous resolutions that initially conveyed the properties for single-family homes and later allowed for multi-family rental units with an earlier extension. The justification for the extension includes uncontrollable delays and the inability of Building Better Communities to secure financing independently. The Housing Committee forwarded this to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
