Miami-Dade County Commission is authorizing the execution of amended and restated county deeds to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. This action allows for the conveyance of previously conveyed county properties to its affiliate, Javon Gardens LLC. Additionally, it grants a two-year extension to obtain final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units intended for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. The extension pushes the deadline to July 29, 2028. The justification for the extension includes uncontrollable delays such as survey completion, and the transfer to Javon Gardens LLC is due to Building Better Communities' inability to secure financing independently.
