AMENDMENT TO LAND EXCHANGE AGREEMENT

Miami-Dade County Commission approved the First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. This amendment modifies the original agreement concerning the exchange of two parcels of land. The County is conveying 48,456 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010, located at 1851 NW 9th Avenue, Miami) to the College, and the College is conveying 48,102 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010, located at 1000 NW 20th Street) to the County. The primary changes involve removing the closing condition that required the Public Health Trust to complete environmental remediation and obtain a No Further Action Letter from DERM. The amendment also modifies environmental remediation provisions, the closing date definition, and establishes post-closing cooperation for information exchange. The purpose is to facilitate the closing so the College Parcel can be used by the Public Health Trust for parking to support the new Emergency Department at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded the item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
