AMENDMENT TO LAND EXCHANGE AGREEMENT

Miami-Dade County Commission approved the First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies the original agreement for the exchange of land parcels. The County will convey 48,456 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010, located at 1851 NW 9th Avenue, Miami) to the College, in exchange for 48,102 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010, located at 1000 NW 20th Street) from the College. The primary changes involve removing the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to complete environmental remediation and obtain a No Further Action Letter, modifying environmental remediation provisions, adjusting the closing date definition, and establishing post-closing cooperation for information exchange. This amendment facilitates the closing of the exchange so the College Parcel can be used by the Public Health Trust for parking to support the new Emergency Department at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded the item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
