Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted on first reading an ordinance granting the petition of D.R. Horton, Inc. to establish the Sandero Landing Community Development District. The district is generally bounded by Canal 103 South to the north, SW 167 Avenue (Tennessee Road/SE 12 Avenue) to the east, SW 328 Street (Lucy Street/SE 8 Street) to the south, and SW 172 Avenue (McMinn Road/SE 6 Avenue) to the west. The development includes 258 two-story townhome units, 436 three-story townhome units, and 66 live/work units, with associated roadway, stormwater, wastewater, and water distribution system improvements estimated at $35.384 million. The ordinance was adopted on first reading on May 19, 2026, and scheduled for a public hearing on July 21, 2026. The creation of the district is intended to provide a financing mechanism for community infrastructure and services.
