CEI SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE UNDERLINE

Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved Supplemental Agreement No. 1 for Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) services for The Underline Phase 3 – Segments 3 to 9. This agreement increases the maximum contract value to $8,252,721.83 and extends the contract term to 1,654 non-compensable calendar days. The original contract was for $6,000,000 and was approved on April 4, 2023. The supplemental agreement is necessary to align CEI services with an expanded scope and extended schedule of the design-build contract, which was modified to incorporate community-driven enhancements, safety improvements, and additional amenities. The additional CEI services will support enhanced quality assurance, increased inspection and coordination for added project elements, and extended construction oversight. The project is a 7.36-mile multimodal corridor beneath the Metrorail system. Funding for the supplemental agreement comes from Mobility Impact Fees. Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. is the contractor. The project is located within Districts 5 and 7 but provides countywide benefits.
