CHARTER AMENDMENT, ARTICLE 7 ADVERTISING
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution
Miami-Dade County is calling a countywide special election on November 3, 2026, to allow voters to decide on amending the Home Rule Charter to expand allowable advertising within parks. The current charter limits advertising to that associated with sponsorship of events or facilities, and this amendment seeks to remove that limitation to generate revenue for the Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department. The proposed amendment requires a two-thirds vote of commissioners present to be placed on the ballot, and the election itself requires a majority of voters to approve. Revenue generated from expanded advertising would be exclusively for the park system.
