Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved the award of a contract for roadway improvements to NW 58 Street, from NW 97 Avenue to NW 79 Avenue (Project No. 20250068). The contract was awarded to Horizon Contractors, Inc. for $17,933,304.63 over a term of 730 calendar days. The project involves reconstructing the existing four-lane roadway to include continuous center turning lanes, dedicated bike lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and a modern storm drainage system, along with new pavement markings, signage, traffic signalization, and roadway lighting. The project is funded by Mobility Impact Fees. Eight bids were received, with Horizon Contractors, Inc. submitting the lowest base bid. The project was previously cancelled due to utility conflicts, which have since been resolved by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
