CONTRACT AWARD TO HORIZON CONTRACTORS INC.

Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved the award of a contract to Horizon Contractors, Inc. for roadway improvements to NW 58 Street, between NW 97 Avenue and NW 79 Avenue. The project, with a total value of $17,933,304.63 and a term of 730 calendar days, involves reconstructing the existing four-lane roadway to include continuous center turning lanes, dedicated bike lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and a modern storm drainage system. Enhancements also include new pavement markings, signage, upgraded traffic signalization, and roadway lighting. The project is funded by Mobility Impact Fees. Eight bids were received, with Horizon Contractors, Inc. submitting the lowest base bid. The project was previously canceled due to utility conflicts, which have since been resolved by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
