COPART WEST SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT

Miami-Dade County is establishing the Copart West Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district will provide street lighting services within public rights-of-way. The project involves the installation of approximately 18 LED streetlights. The initial costs for the first year are estimated at $82,815.28, with subsequent years estimated at $18,647.70. The estimated cost per assessable front foot for the second year is $4.8380. The developer, Copart of Connecticut, Inc., petitioned for the district, and 100% of property owners signed. The estimated completion for the project is Fall 2028, with initial billing in November 2029. Florida Power and Light (FPL) will own and maintain the system, and their contractors may increase staffing to meet service requirements.
