COPART WEST SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT

Miami-Dade County is establishing the Copart West Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district is generally bounded by SW 236 Street to the north, SW 134 Avenue to the east, and the C-102 Canal to the south and west. The project involves the installation of 18 LED streetlights. The estimated cost for the first year is $82,815.28, and for the second year is $18,647.70, with an estimated annual assessment of $4.8380 per assessable front foot. The developer, Copart of Connecticut, Inc., petitioned for the district, which is a subdivision requirement. The Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will manage the district, and Florida Power and Light will own and maintain the lighting system. The estimated completion for the project is Fall 2028, with initial billing in November 2029.
