Miami-Dade County is establishing the Copart West Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district will provide street lighting services within public rights-of-way. The project involves the installation of eighteen 12,000 Lumen, 3000K Cobra Head LED streetlights on concrete poles. The developer, Copart of Connecticut, Inc., is funding the first year's costs, estimated at $82,815.28, with subsequent years funded by special assessments. Florida Power and Light will own and maintain the system. The estimated completion for the project is Fall 2028, with initial billing in November 2029.
