Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a Resolution approving a Development Lease Agreement (DLA) between the County and CR Aviation Leasing, LLC. The agreement is for a 222,870 square foot parcel of land at Miami Executive Airport for the development of aviation hangar facilities and ancillary infrastructure. The lease term is 30 years with a five-year renewal option. CR Aviation is required to invest a minimum of $4,000,000.00, with an estimated $5,188,663.00 in rent and other revenue due to the County over the initial term. The project includes demolition of existing buildings and construction of a 40,000 square foot hangar. The agreement is subject to conditions precedent, including approval from traffic and consulting engineers and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Aviation and Seaport Committee recommended approval with amendments related to expedited permit review. The project is expected to create approximately 225 temporary jobs and 25 permanent jobs, with CR Aviation also establishing an Apprenticeship Readiness Pipeline. Construction is phased, with Phase 1 completion targeted within 18 months of DLA execution and Phase 2 completion within 36 months.
