Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is set to ratify an emergency contract for electrical infrastructure oversight and maintenance services at the Lightspeed Facility. The contract, valued at $358,256.00, is awarded to Solares Electrical Services, Inc. for the People and Internal Operations Department. This emergency action was necessitated by a construction incident on April 25, 2025, involving Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., which compromised the electrical systems of the Lightspeed Facility, a critical site housing the 911 call center, 311 operations, and the Real Time Crime Center. Solares Electrical Services, Inc. was already on-site and uniquely qualified to provide immediate oversight and maintenance.
