Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering the ratification of Emergency Contract No. E-10684 for Electrical Infrastructure Oversight and Maintenance Service to Solares Electrical Services, Inc. The contract is for $358,256.00 and is for the People and Internal Operations Department. This emergency action was taken after a construction incident on April 25, 2025, involving Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., compromised the electrical systems at the Lightspeed Facility, which houses critical operations including the 911 call center, 311 operations, and the Real Time Crime Center. Solares Electrical Services, Inc. was already on-site performing work and was uniquely qualified to provide immediate oversight and maintenance to prevent disruption to essential services. The County is pursuing remedies from Suffolk Construction Company, Inc. for costs associated with this emergency contract.
