Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering the ratification of an emergency contract (E-10684) for Electrical Infrastructure Oversight and Maintenance Service to Solares Electrical Services, Inc. for $358,256. This contract is for the People and Internal Operations Department and covers the Lightspeed Facility, which houses critical operations like the 911 call center, 311, and the Real Time Crime Center. The emergency was declared following a construction incident on April 25, 2025, by Suffolk Construction Company, Inc. that compromised electrical systems. Solares Electrical Services, Inc. was already on-site performing work and was uniquely qualified to provide immediate oversight and maintenance to ensure continuous operation and protect the County's investment. The Board is authorizing the County Mayor or designee to exercise all contract provisions.
