Miami-Dade County and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) are exchanging land parcels. The County will receive 1.318 acres from SFWMD, identified as Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11, which are needed for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. In exchange, the County will convey 3.889 acres of its own land to SFWMD. The County property is bounded by SW 26 Street (north), SW 28 Street (south), SW 173 Avenue (west), and SW 172 Court (east). Both properties are valued at $175,000.00. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation on June 10, 2026. The BCC is scheduled to consider this on July 21, 2026.
