EXCHANGE PROPERTY BETWEEN COUNTY AND THE SOUTH FLORIDA

Miami-Dade County and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) are exchanging land parcels. The County will receive 1.318 acres of SFWMD property (Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11) valued at $175,000.00, which are needed for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. In exchange, the County will convey 3.889 acres of its own land, bounded by SW 26 Street, SW 28 Street, SW 173 Avenue, and SW 172 Court, also valued at $175,000.00. This exchange is approved under Florida Statutes Section 125.37. Neither party will reserve mineral rights. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The total project cost for the roadway improvements is estimated at $26,593,000.
