Miami-Dade County is approving a land exchange with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The County will receive 1.318 acres of SFWMD property, identified as Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11, which are needed for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. In exchange, the County will convey 3.889 acres of its own land to SFWMD. The County-owned land is bounded by SW 26 Street (north), SW 28 Street (south), SW 173 Avenue (west), and SW 172 Court (east). Both properties are valued at $175,000.00. The County roadway project involves widening SW 157 Avenue from SW 42 Street to SW 26 Street to a four-lane roadway with associated improvements. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
