Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional two years and $18,629,677.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00862, Fire Suppression Systems Services. This brings the total modified cumulative pool amount to $48,438,677.00. The extension aims to allow multiple County departments to continue procuring fire suppression system services on an as-needed basis. The pool was originally established on October 2, 2018, for an eight-year term. The extension requires ratification by the Board for any contract award exceeding $5,000,000.00, or $1,500,000.00 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. Specific departmental allocations include: Community Services Department ($56,000), Department of Solid Waste Management ($180,000), Department of Transportation and Public Works ($619,677), Miami-Dade Aviation Department ($16,874,000), Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department ($500,000), and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department ($400,000). The pool currently has eleven prequalified vendors, with six having local addresses and three certified as Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms. Due diligence on vendors revealed no adverse findings. The two percent User Access Program applies, and Small Business Enterprise measures and Local Preference will be determined at the time of spot market competition.
