Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional two years and $18,629,677.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00862, Fire Suppression Systems Services. This would bring the total modified cumulative pool amount to $48,438,677.00. The extension is intended to allow multiple County departments to continue procuring fire suppression systems, devices, and related services on an as-needed basis to ensure compliance with fire and life safety codes. The pool was originally established on October 2, 2018, for an eight-year term and has been modified previously. The extension is recommended to maintain efficiency and allow existing prequalified vendors to focus on bid opportunities. The pool currently has eleven prequalified vendors, with six having local addresses and three being certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms. Due diligence on vendors found no adverse findings. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation on June 8, 2026. The Board is expected to consider this on July 21, 2026.
