FIRE SUPPRESSION MOD (5YR)

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional two years and $18,629,677.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00862, Fire Suppression Systems Services. This brings the total modified cumulative pool amount to $48,438,677.00. The extension aims to allow multiple county departments to continue procuring fire suppression system services on an as-needed basis to ensure compliance with fire and life safety codes. The pool was initially established on October 2, 2018, for an eight-year term and has been modified previously. The extension will support various departments including Community Services, Solid Waste Management, Transportation and Public Works, Aviation, Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Fire Rescue. Contract awards over $5,000,000.00, or $1,500,000.00 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, require Board ratification. Eleven vendors are currently prequalified, with six having local addresses and three certified as Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms. Due diligence on vendors found no adverse findings. The two percent User Access Program applies, and Small Business Enterprise measures and Local Preference will be determined at the time of spot market competition. The pool expires on October 31, 2028, if approved.
