An ordinance is in draft to change the municipal boundaries of Florida City, Florida, by annexing an unincorporated area referred to as Area J. The annexation includes specific legal descriptions of land parcels. Conditions for the annexation include the reservation of utility tax revenues and residential garbage and refuse collection/disposal to the County, payment of outstanding stormwater bond debt service by the City, and retention of County jurisdiction over certain restrictive covenants and areas/facilities of countywide significance.
