Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a Resolution to approve and authorize the execution of a standard Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Miami-Dade County and municipalities for the provision of debris removal, staging and reduction, long-range hauling, and monitoring services. This MOU is intended to facilitate hurricane clean-up and recovery operations. The County has three pre-established competitively bid emergency contracts for these services. The requesting municipality will compensate the County for services rendered. The MOU will be managed by the Department of Solid Waste Management. This initiative follows a similar MOU executed after Hurricane Irma in 2017 for North Bay Village, City of South Miami, and the Town of Medley. The standard form MOU aims to streamline these agreements for future hurricane seasons. The services covered include debris removal, staging and reduction, long-term hauling and disposal, and monitoring.
