HURRICANE RECOVERY SERVICES MOU

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a Resolution approving and authorizing the execution of a standard form Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Miami-Dade County and municipalities for the provision of debris removal, staging and reduction, long-range hauling, and monitoring services. This MOU is intended to facilitate hurricane clean-up and recovery operations. The Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has pre-established competitively bid emergency contracts for these services. The requesting municipality will compensate the County for services rendered. The MOU will be managed by Bolanle Shorunke-Jean, Assistant Director, Financial Services, DSWM Chief Financial Officer. This initiative follows a similar MOU executed after Hurricane Irma in 2017. The Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
