HURRICANE RECOVERY SERVICES MOU

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a Resolution to approve and authorize the execution of a standard Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Miami-Dade County and municipalities for the provision of hurricane-related debris removal, staging, reduction, long-range hauling, and monitoring services. The Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has existing competitively bid emergency contracts for these services. The MOU allows other requesting municipalities to participate in the Debris Removal Program for hurricane clean-up and recovery. The requesting municipality will compensate the County for services rendered. This initiative follows a similar MOU executed after Hurricane Irma in 2017 and is intended to enhance hurricane recovery planning. The Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
