HURRICANE RECOVERY SERVICES MOU

Miami-Dade County is seeking to approve and authorize the execution of a standard Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with municipalities for debris removal, staging, reduction, long-range hauling, and monitoring services. This MOU is intended to facilitate hurricane clean-up and recovery operations. The services will be provided by Miami-Dade County's Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) through pre-established, competitively bid emergency contracts. Requesting municipalities will compensate the County for services rendered. The MOU will be effective during hurricane season or until financial obligations are met. This initiative follows a similar arrangement after Hurricane Irma in 2017, with a request for such services reiterated in February 2025 by North Bay Village.
