HURRICANE RECOVERY SERVICES MOU
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution
Miami-Dade County is seeking approval for a standard Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with municipalities for hurricane-related debris removal, staging, reduction, long-range hauling, and monitoring services. The Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has pre-established, competitively bid emergency contracts for these services. The MOU allows DSWM to include other requesting municipalities in its Debris Removal Program for hurricane clean-up and recovery. The requesting municipality will compensate the County for services rendered. This initiative follows a similar MOU executed after Hurricane Irma in 2017. The Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation. The BCC is scheduled to consider this item on July 21, 2026.
