IMPROVEMENTS TO SW 268 STREET FROM US-1 TO SW 139 STREET

Miami-Dade County is proceeding with improvements to SW 268 Street, specifically the section between US-1 and SW 139 Avenue. This project involves road widening, beautification, and right-of-way improvements, including reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, new drainage, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, signalization, lighting, bicycle facilities, and utility work. The County is declaring the acquisition of Parcel 1 for these improvements as a public necessity. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to acquire Parcel 1 through negotiation, donation, right-of-way designation, purchase (at appraised or tax-assessed value, whichever is higher), or eminent domain. An incentive offer of up to 15 percent over the higher of appraised or tax-assessed value is also authorized to expedite acquisition. The estimated cost for design, construction, and right-of-way acquisition is $12,739,000, funded by the FY25-26 Adopted Budget and Multi-Year Capital Plan for Road Widening Countywide and Mobility Impact Fees. Annual maintenance costs are estimated at $5,764.99.
