Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to declare the acquisition of Parcel 1 a public necessity for road widening, beautification, and right-of-way improvements to SW 268 Street from US-1 to SW 139 Avenue. The project involves reconstructing and widening SW 268 Street, including sidewalks, curbs and gutters, stormwater drainage, pavement markings, signage, signalization, lighting, bicycle facilities, and Water and Sewer Department utility improvements. The estimated cost for design, construction, CEI, and right-of-way acquisition is $12,739,000. The BCC authorized the County Mayor or designee and County Attorney to acquire the property through negotiation, donation, right-of-way designation, purchase, or eminent domain, with an option for an incentive offer up to 15% over the appraised or tax assessed value.
