Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) agenda item 8P9 on July 21, 2026, involved a resolution directing the County Mayor or designee to negotiate a non-competitive, revenue-generating contract for a landfill gas conversion facility at the South Dade Landfill site. This action was taken after all proposals for a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) system at both South Dade and North Dade Landfills (RFP No. EVN0019329) were deemed non-responsive by the County Attorney's Office. The original solicitation was issued on July 8, 2025, with five proposals received by October 15, 2025. The North Dade Landfill was determined to be not viable for this project.
