LAP AGREEMENTS FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is set to ratify two Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) totaling $268,753. These agreements are for Safe Routes to School (SRTS) design improvements. Project 1 is at North Miami Beach Senior High School, valued at $96,229, and Project 2 is at Homestead Middle School, valued at $172,524. Both agreements were executed on 10/10/2025. The BCC will authorize the County Mayor or designee to execute necessary contracts and amendments. The SRTS program aims to enhance safety for students walking or bicycling to school. Miami-Dade County Public Schools submitted applications, partnering with the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) to access federal funds. DTPW will oversee the design phase and seek reimbursement from FDOT. Public comment is not stated in this document.
