LAP AGREEMENTS FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is set to ratify two Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) totaling $268,753. These agreements are for Safe Routes to School (SRTS) design improvements. One agreement, valued at $96,229 (FM No. 447597-1-38-01), is for North Miami Beach Senior High School. The second agreement, valued at $172,524 (FM No. 447600-1-38-01), is for Homestead Middle School. The County will receive these funds from FDOT and will be reimbursed for upfront funding provided by the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) General Fund. The agreements authorize the County Mayor or designee to execute necessary contracts and amendments. The projects are intended to enhance transportation safety, mobility, and connectivity for school children walking or bicycling to school.
