LAP AGREEMENTS FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is set to ratify two Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) totaling $268,753. These agreements are for Safe Routes to School (SRTS) design improvements. One agreement, valued at $96,229 (FM No. 447597-1-38-01), is for North Miami Beach Senior High School. The second agreement, valued at $172,524 (FM No. 447600-1-38-01), is for Homestead Middle School. The County will receive program funds from FDOT, with upfront funding provided by the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) General Fund, which will be reimbursed. DTPW will oversee the design phase. The SRTS program aims to improve safety for children walking or bicycling to school.
