Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is set to approve a contract award for the Ludlam Trail Development Project. The project involves transforming a 5.6-mile segment of the former Florida East Coast Railroad into a shared-use trail for walking, running, and cycling. The professional services agreement is awarded to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for architectural and engineering services, including design and post-design, civil engineering, and highway systems. The contract amount is not to exceed $9,533,563.00, with a term of 1,825 calendar days. The project aims to promote active lifestyles and non-motorized transportation. Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. was the highest-ranked proposer and has prior relevant experience. The project scope includes pavement markings, park and neighborhood connections, street and canal crossings, signage, site furnishings, access control, contamination remediation coordination, site preparation, shade trees, and integrated landscaping. The project will comply with sea level rise projections and sustainable building measures, aiming for ENVISION Silver certification.
