Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to waive competitive bidding procedures to approve a Programming Partnership Operating and Management Agreement between Miami-Dade County and Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. This agreement allows Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc., a not-for-profit entity, to continue operating the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station for the care of sick and injured seabirds. The waiver of competitive bidding is recommended to ensure uninterrupted care for the animals and continued educational programming for the community. There is minimal fiscal impact to the County, primarily related to utilities, while Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. will continue its annual payment of $300.
