Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize the County Mayor or designee to execute a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFR) and the Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County. This MOU establishes a partnership for Advance Tactical Medical (ATM) Training for all MDFR paramedics, including members of Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 1 and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. The training will encompass classroom education, cadaver workshops, and hands-on patient care at the Ryder Trama Center. The agreement is for an initial five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation on June 8, 2026. The Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to take final action on July 21, 2026.
