Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department (MDFR) and The Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County (operating Jackson Health System) are entering into a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Advance Tactical Medical (ATM) Training for all MDFR paramedics. The training will include classroom education, cadaver workshops, and hands-on patient care at the Ryder Trama Center. This partnership aims to enhance paramedic skillsets for trauma care and high-acuity medicine. The MOU has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation. The BCC is scheduled to consider this on July 21, 2026.
