Miami-Dade County is exploring a pilot program for the sale of Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) for reuse as biofuel or other purposes. This initiative stems from a need to address potential financial hardships on businesses, particularly small ones, related to FOG control device upgrades mandated by previous resolutions and ordinances. The program aims to facilitate the sale of FOG, provide expedited regulatory approvals, offer technical assistance, and collect data for future regulatory reform. The County Mayor or designee is directed to prepare the pilot program for Board review and approval, including a report within 90 days of the resolution's effective date. Input from the EPA and FDEP will be sought for any necessary regulatory amendments.
