Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize an additional five years and $184,000,000.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. FB-01645P, Rail/Mover Parts and Services, for the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW). The total modified cumulative pool amount would be $297,621,000.00. This pool is used to purchase equipment, components, parts, and maintenance services for the Metrorail and Metromover systems. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation. The pool was originally established on October 5, 2021, and expires on October 31, 2026. The extension is requested to ensure uninterrupted support of rail operations, maintain fleet integrity, and allow for timely corrective and preventative maintenance. The pool is open and has 37 active pre-qualified vendors, with 11 having local addresses. Outreach efforts have been conducted to identify additional qualified vendors, including for aftermarket parts. Any contract award under the pool exceeding $5,000,000.00 requires ratification by the Board. Funding is from DTPW Operating / Federal Funds.
