Miami-Dade County is declaring certain firefighting equipment as surplus and authorizing its donation to Vinícola Del Norte S.A. in the Dominican Republic. The equipment is obsolete and cannot be legally used by other county departments, municipalities, or eligible organizations within Miami-Dade County. A waiver of the standard surplus property disposition procedure is required, necessitating a two-thirds vote of board members present. The donation agreement must be executed, and the recipient must take possession within 90 days. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation. The BCC is scheduled to consider this on July 21, 2026.
