Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering ratification of Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-930B between Miami-Dade County and Daniel O'Connell's Sons, Inc. This change order grants a 622-day non-compensable time extension for the construction of ST-2D-B South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (SDWWTP) Substations 5/6 and 15/16. The project involves constructing two new electrical substations, installing new electrical equipment duct banks, and associated infrastructure to redistribute electrical loads. The delays are attributed to extended fabrication and delivery of electrical equipment due to supply chain issues and operational shutdown sequencing for installing new low voltage feeders. The project aims to increase the SDWWTP's average daily treatment capacity from 112.5 MGD to 131 MGD and peak flow capacity from 285 MGD to 305 MGD. The change order extends the Substantial Completion Date from June 10, 2023, to February 21, 2025, and the Final Completion Date from July 22, 2023, to April 4, 2025. The original contract award was $21,805,340.00.
