Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering ratification of Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-930B between Miami-Dade County and Daniel O'Connell's Sons, Inc. This change order grants a 622-day non-compensable time extension for the construction of ST-2D-B South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (SDWWTP) Substations 5/6 and 15/16. The extension is due to extended fabrication and delivery delays of electrical equipment (415 days) and required shutdowns for new voltage feeder installation (207 days). The project aims to increase the SDWWTP's average daily flow capacity and peak flow capacity. The original contract award was $21,805,340.00. The Substantial Completion Date is extended from June 10, 2023, to February 21, 2025, and the Final Completion Date from July 22, 2023, to April 4, 2025. There is no additional fiscal impact. The contract had SBE-Construction and SBE-Goods goals, but Resolution R-525-17 exempts this time extension from compliance review.
