Miami-Dade County is approving an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact. This agreement involves Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. Miami-Dade County will contribute $285,000 over three fiscal years (2027-2029), with $95,000 annually, towards services provided by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC). Broward County will retain and supervise ISC on behalf of the four counties. The agreement aims to continue coordinated efforts addressing climate challenges, resilience, and regional projects. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation. The agreement replaces a previous one that expires September 30, 2026.
