Miami-Dade County is reporting on job classifications where active-duty military experience can substitute for traditional college degree requirements. The People and Internal Operations Department (PIOD) identified 485 job classifications within the classified service system where this substitution is feasible. Additionally, 683 classified service job classifications do not require a college degree. These efforts aim to attract and retain a skilled workforce by valuing practical experience. The report is a response to a resolution adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on November 4, 2025. The report will be placed on the next available Board Agenda.
